An AI assistant that replaced a 3-person offshore paralegal team.

A personal-injury firm was outsourcing paralegal work to a three-person offshore team: costly, slow, and risky where one missed deadline can sink a case. We brought the work back in-house, automated.

The challenge

The firm outsourced its paralegal workload to a three-person team a dozen time zones away: costly, slow, and risky in a practice where a single missed deadline can sink a case. Document review and deadline tracking lived offshore, with no real visibility and constant coordination overhead.

What we built

An AI assistant that absorbed the paralegal workflow. It ingests inbound documents and automatically extracts filing deadlines, key facts, and case-critical detail, strengthening the firm's existing process and bringing the work back in-house. Built on Anvil's document-intelligence and extraction engine.

“It does the work of our whole paralegal team, faster, and it never misses a deadline.”

Why it worked

The firm didn't need a generic legal-tech subscription; it needed its specific workflow understood and automated. We diagnosed the operation, pointed proven Anvil modules at the firm's documents, and shipped a working assistant in weeks. Production, not a pilot.
